How To Help

No young person should be homeless in West Virginia

Join Urgent Care EMS (Emergency Meals Support) on our mission to prevent and end youth and young adult homelessness in our county and State.

UCEMSRT Strategic Vision is for our Youth and young adult homelessness remains one of the most urgent challenges facing our communities today. Every day, young people find themselves without a safe place to sleep, reliable access to food, or the support they need to build a stable future.

While this crisis is not new, communities across the country are demonstrating that meaningful change is possible. Through collaboration, compassion, and innovative solutions, organizations, volunteers, and community partners are coming together to ensure that vulnerable youth have access to the resources, guidance, and opportunities they deserve.

By investing in prevention, providing immediate support, and creating pathways toward stability and independence, we can help young people overcome adversity and reach their full potential. Together, we can break the cycle of homelessness and build stronger, healthier communities where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.

At Urgent Care EMS, our role extends beyond meeting immediate needs. We are dedicated to helping struggling and homeless youth find stability, security, and opportunity by providing emergency support, safe environments, and life-changing resources that empower them to build independent and successful futures.

We believe that early intervention can change the course of a young person's life. When struggling youth are provided with compassionate support, positive role models, safe environments, and access to critical resources, they gain the tools needed to overcome adversity, achieve self-sufficiency, and become active, contributing members of their communities.

That’s good for them, and it’s good for our County and State.

"Every young person deserves to know that they matter, that their dreams are achievable, and that their circumstances do not define their future. At Urgent Care EMS, we strive to be a source of hope and encouragement for struggling youth, helping them see their potential, overcome obstacles, and gain the confidence needed to pursue their ambitions. Through compassion, support, and meaningful connections, we empower young people to build stronger, brighter futures."

Educate and Advocate

One of the most meaningful ways you can support our goals is by helping raise awareness and understanding within our communities.

Many children, youth, and families facing hardship are often misunderstood. The challenges of homelessness, housing instability, food insecurity, and poverty are complex issues that rarely result from a single circumstance. Behind every story is a young person or family navigating obstacles that are often beyond their control.

At Urgent Care EMS, we believe that compassion begins with understanding. By learning about the realities that vulnerable youth and families face, you can help break down misconceptions, encourage meaningful conversations, and inspire others to take action.

Whether you share information with friends and family, advocate for those in need, engage on social media, or support community initiatives, your voice can help create a more caring and supportive environment for those experiencing crisis. Together, we can build stronger communities where every child, youth, and family is treated with dignity, respect, and hope for a brighter future.
