Across West Virginia, many young people and families are facing real challenges—housing instability, food insecurity, and difficult life circumstances that can happen to anyone at any time. Some are between homes, some are navigating transitions from foster care, and others simply need a place to turn during a moment of crisis or uncertainty.
UCEMSRT Youth Services was created to meet those needs with compassion, dignity, and action.
We provide immediate assistance, essential resources, and supportive services for youth, young adults, and any individual in our community who needs help. While we place a strong focus on supporting vulnerable youth ages 12–24, our doors are open to anyone seeking basic needs support, stability, or guidance during difficult times.
No one should go without food, care, or support. UCEMSRT is committed to ensuring that anyone who comes through our doors will be met with respect and will not leave without access to food or essential assistance.
Our services include basic necessities, safe and welcoming spaces, and pathways that help individuals move toward stability and independence. Whether someone needs a meal, clothing, resources, or simply a place to be heard and supported, UCEMSRT is here to help.

By 2030, UCEMSRT Youth Services aims to:
- Serve youth in all 55 West Virginia counties.
- Establish multiple Youth Resource Centers.
- Operate a statewide Youth Street Outreach Program.
- Expand school-based support services.
- Develop transitional housing opportunities for youth and young adults.
- Ensure that no young person is left without access to essential resources.

Youth Homelessness Is Closer Than You Think
Youth homelessness often goes unseen.
Many young people are not sleeping on sidewalks or in shelters. Instead, they are:
- Moving from couch to couch
- Living in overcrowded homes
- Staying in motels

- Aging out of foster care without support
